Abstract

Fuzzy Interval Valued Sets defined on the interval valued membership function (Zadeh-1975) in which the degree of membership values of the element present in the closed sub- interval [0, 1], Representing membership in interval form is better comparing to that of single number value for arbitrary (uncertainty) parameter set. Recent data are more complex with high uncertainty and so, IVFS becomes an eminent concept and tool to deal the decision making, forecasting and optimization problems. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the concept of IVFS, IVFIS, IVFSS, IVIFSS, IVFDT, distance measure, score functions, suitability value of the constraints in decision making for optimality, width values of IVFS and optimization model in IVFSs.
