India is the third largest producers of electrical energy in the world. But, it is facing deficit of electrical energy due to increased demand. Energy audit is one of the methods to conserve the energy in order to reduce the gap between supply and demand. This paper highlights the energy audit conducted at Vignan’s Lara Institute of Science and Technology. The audit has estimated the energy saving potential of the institute by suggesting cost effective measures. The estimated energy saving potential, Green house gas emission reduction, payback period for different energy conserving alternatives are accounted in this paper.
