Abstract

The intention to purchase a car or the behavioural attitude decides that the individual would purchase what type of cars but on the other hand, we can conclude that Attitude makes a stronger relationship while purchasing cars more than the intention. The paper attempts to investigate factors influencing a consumer while buying a car on the basis of the theory of planned behaviour. Data was collected from a 303 respondents in the month of January 2018 till December 2018 from all the respondents who were planning to buy a car in near future say within six months. Based on the result drawn out of the structural equation modelling it revealed that the first factor influencing the purchasing of car is perceived behavioural control which was revealed in the theory of planned behaviour. The second vital determinant of purchasing a car is subjective norm which also a determinant in planned behaviour and numerous researches have proved the same but in case of cars it is not significantly impacting intention.
