Dr. Shraddha Kulkarni
Abstract

In this Case study, the author tries to establish a relationship between the psyche of a professional and his suitability to perform the tasks based on the job role. The author selected three management faculty members from a reputed management institute in India, as a sample. These faculty members have been selected for the research because their overall score in performance appraisal was below satisfactory and at the same time, cognitive ability score and their stress level was quite high as indicated by the record of the institute where they are working. To assess the behavior of the three faculty members, author conducted certain psychometric tests such as PSI and RSI for three of the Assistant Professors working in a premier management institute. Based on the job description, competencies have been identified and based on the results the author concluded who amongst the respondents is the most suitable to perform the role.
