User Interface Development Using Model-Based Approach

Abstract

Achieving a high level of user satisfaction lies in the functionalities that offered in the User Interface (UI). Even though numerous approaches were proposed, there are still limitations and issues that need to be addressed including extensibility functionalities. The issues concern the capability of UI to support extensibility functionalities that changes overtime and the ease with which the UI can be modified and personalized. Thus, a more structured development approach is necessary to describe and support the changing conditions for UI functionality as well as the different levels of interactions. One of the promising approaches is Model-Based User Interface Development (MBUID) approach. It has the ability to extend the UI functionalities to improve adaptation hence it can be the key to the success of user satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to analyze MBUID architecture, which the method has the potential to enhance the extensibility navigation. Besides that, this study will discuss what is the significant of MBUID that can improve UI development. Then, it conducts a case study of e-commerce website to identify the issues in UI.
