The study addresses and provides description and justification of the new model of organization of the students’ researchactivity at the pedagogical university. The recognition of the significance of the phenomenon under study in the educational sphere and the realization of the fact that the existing model does not meet the modern requirements of informatization and globalization of human activity highlights the problem of finding new approaches for shaping the readiness of the future teacher for the research activities. The aim of the study is to provide theoretical evidence and develop a model for the formation of cognitive activity for the students’ research activities at the pedagogical university based on the cluster approach using the potential of new information technologies. The key line to the research is the cluster approach to the creation of a virtually distributed scientific network-connectedinternational laboratory, dealingwith the problems of educational informatization and educational technologies, which provides synergetic conditions for the formation and development of students' cognitive activity. The use of means of the remote interaction and coordination of laboratory participants through a single portal allows to overcome the spatial boundaries and language barriers, thereby strengthening and updating the research topics of its participants, ensuring the exchange of experience in the global scientific community. The main result of the article is a cluster model, designedand implemented in actual practice, which takes into account the diagnostics of students' research activities and is based on an open portal for its organization at the pedagogical university. The materials of the article are of practical value for the teachers and administrative scientific workers.
