Development of Efficient Cell Association and Resource Allocation Strategies for Heterogeneous D2D Communication

This paper investigates the problem of resource allocation scheme to mitigate cell-edge interference, and then address the issue of dead zone elevations schemes to enhance cell coverage. In the first part for the analysis of proposed D2D assisted Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) scheme to minimize interference in a multi-cell environment. In the second part, a random resource letch algorithm introduced for throughput enhancement, and the cell association is optimized to enhance network efficiency. The cumulative growth of data demand in mobile communication requires technologies like underlay device to device (D2D) communication because of its high spectral efficiency. The D2D communication feasibly increases the spectral efficiency in various heterogeneous networks (HetNws) by applying some mix zone strategies, where zone 1, 2 and 3 consists of macrocells, small cells, and D2D pairs respectively. However, these strategies often suffer from cell-edge interference and limited cell coverage. In the last part of resource allocation strategy for heterogeneous D2D communication is assessed through simulation results.
