Abstract

This paper provides a review of literature while contributing to the academic understanding of the concepts of organizational agility, Information Technology (IT) infrastructure flexibility and learning orientation within automobile organizations. This research identified 39 articles through a structured review technique, based on a three-stage refinement process. Data reduction procedures using codification, sentence strings and a review of keywords, title, abstract and conclusion were used in the search. The papers focused on three IT Infrastructure Flexibility (ITIF) dimensions, namely: IT compatibility, IT connectivity, and IT personnel competency. Additionally, this paper also analyzed Learning Orientation (LO) dimensions, namely; Commitment to Learning (CTL), Shared Vision (SV), Open-Mindedness (OM), and Intra organizational Knowledge Sharing (IKS). The acknowledged gaps in understanding ITIF, LO, and driving factors of agility were identified and analyzed. Subsequently this paper examines the relationships of variables with the aim to identify key driving factors that can be exercisable by automobiles. The findings provide strategies for IT and business managers in planning and organizing IT infrastructure flexibility and learning practices.
