The Impact of an Organization’s Culture on the Performance of its Employees - A Study

Abstract

Every organization passes on its norms, values and objectives to its employees, which is an important step in enabling them to understand and imbibe its culture. The success of any organization depends on how well its employees get familiar with its processes and functioning. Hence, effective adoption of the organizational culture helps employees to work more efficiently, as they get to share a common vision and path. For the same reason, organizational culture affects employee performance immensely leading to increased productivity and performance of the organization itself. Underlining this fact, this study aims at the definition and conceptualization of an organization’s culture and measure its impact on its performance. Primary data for the study were gathered from a large group of executives using a structured questionnaire and secondary data from several websites, articles, journals and project reports.
