Abstract

Mobile Augmented Reality (Mar) Has Been Implemented In Many Sectors Including Tourism. This growing Interest Has Changed Visitor’s Learning Experience Within Tourism Attractions. A Mar System Based On Good Design Principles Can Help In Understanding The Behaviour And Emotional State Of The User Thus Increasing Their Experience. In This Paper, A User Experience (Ux) Assessment Of Tourists Using A Mar System Is Presented. First, A Design Guideline Is Developed Based On User Interface (Ui) Design Elements which Are Ar Display, 3d Models, Icons And Menu Buttons And Animations. A User Experience Model Is Developed To Verify The Guidelines. The Guidelines Are Then Applied To A Marker Based Mobile Augmented Reality Tourism Prototype, Arkl. Twenty Volunteers Who Are Visiting Kuala Lumpur Are Asked To Use Arkl. A Ux Assessment Was Conducted Based On Three Elements of User Experience (Ux) Which Are User Information, User Emotions And User Interaction. The Data Was Analysed And From The Statistical Analysis, It Shows Positive Values Towards The Prototype. Findings Reveals That A Mobile Augmented Reality Based On A Good Design Principles Which Integrates Ui And Ux Can Enhance Visitor’s Learning Experience.
