P. Padmavathi and N. Sudhakar
Abstract

High Gain converters are required for solar photovoltaic (PV), fuel cells, domestic etc., few energy generation and conversion systems at distribution end, due to unsuitable low voltages from the solar PV. In this study, a new high voltage conversion ratio step up converter with single switched capacitor branch is designed. Integration of switched capacitor branch with high gain boost topology can provide high power density and reliability. Transformer-less converter with single power switch and necessity of lower duty cycle, the designed converter attains high conversion ratio and extraordinary performance with lower current and voltage stresses of the device components. Mathematical design equations, theoretical analysis and the operation of the configuration have been discussed in this paper. The features of the designed converter has been analyzed and proved through simulation and hardware results of 120-W laboratory model.
