Abstract

Data mining is a process of extracting information useful and unknown of massive data sets. Data mining success depends on the availability of high quality data. Organizations such as the Government, corporations and individuals have accumulated large volumes of data that can facilitate data analysis and data mining on a large scale. In order to facilitate data analysis organizations publish their data. The published data may contain sensitive information about individuals. Therefore, it is necessary to protect sensitive information about individuals from misuse such as identity theft, false credit / debit transactions with card etc. Privacy preserving data mining is one of the techniques to preserve privacy. There are various mechanisms to provide the privacy of data, such as perturbation, anonymization techniques etc. This paper proposes a new method for privacy preserving data mining.
