Hindi Grammar Checker Using Pattern Matching Approach

Abstract

Today in the era of internet a lot of text data is available online that can be processed through computers. This leads to an evolution in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP). Various NLP tools can be developed using statistic approaches in which text available on the internet can be used for training. Hindi error detection and correction is software that is used for checking the grammatical mistakes in a text. Availability of vast data on the internet motivates the development of grammar checker using statistical approach. In this paper author has proposed a pattern matching approach for detection of grammatical error in Hindi text. Author has used Hindi text corpus for training the system by generating POS pattern of the sentences and then these POS patterns are used to check the correctness of an input sentence.
