The conventional methods used for tuberculosis detection are laboratory oriented and does not give accurate results. The existing methods such as ELISA can only detect the presence of infection causing virus. The early detection of TB can have a great impact in reducing the loss of livestock as well as to prevent any potential outbreak of TB. The proposed biosensor is capable of differentiating between infected and vaccinated animal (DIVA). This is achieved using a cantilever-based biosensor. This method has a faster response and is an on-site detection technique which can revolutionize TB detection.
