Abstract

Recently, the issue of workplace mental health was highlighted after a visible increase in the number of cases of mental health related to the workplace in Malaysia. Nurses are also included to be one of the group that face mental health issues. This study was therefore conducted to investigate possible variables that could better explain the mental health level among nurses by investigating the relationship between resilience and mental health. This study involved a total of 321 nurses at Hospital Pulau Pinang (HPP). Data was collected through self - administered questionnaires and the hypothesis was tested using PLS - SEM. Results show that resilience is positively related to mental health and there was a medium level of mental health among HPP nurses. Finally, the implication for managerial, individual and academic are discussed and some recommendation for future research are proposed.
