Abstract

This paper presents the study accomplish to evaluate the sequel of Hydrochloric acid on split tensile strength of Geopolymer Concrete (GPC).Concrete is the utmost consumed material in constructional field . Beside an enhanced comprehensive focus on environmental distress such as global warming, sustainable development and reclaiming; proxy to usual concrete are being explored, such as geopolymer concrete. To make geopolymer concrete, the Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) is entirely compensate with fly ash. In this work, the natural coarse aggregates are substituted with Recycled Concrete Aggregates (RCA) and fine aggregate is replaced with quarry dust. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium silicate solutions are worn as alkali activators. Cylindrical specimens of 100mm x 200mm size were cast with GPC. The split tensile strength of geopolymer concrete is evaluated at the duration of 28 days cured in ambient condition. The GPC specimens are exposed to 5% of hydrochloric acid solution for 30, 60 and 90 days. The effect of hydrochloric acid exposure hs been evaluated on the tensile strength of GPC with recycled aggregates.
