A Study on the Employees Level of Satisfaction of Welfare Measures in IT Sector With Special reference to Chennai City

Abstract

This paper aims to measure the employee’s level of satisfaction of welfare measures in IT sector. A well-structured questionnaire is used to collect the data. Several statistical tests such as factor analysis, cluster analysis, discriminate analysis and correspondence analysis are used to explain the findings of this study. The study finds that the level of satisfaction is quite high among the IT sector. However, the study reports that employee’s satisfaction towards welfare measures provided by the company such as, medical facilities, R.O dirking water, canteen with hygienic eatables, supply of uniform, parking sheds for two wheelers/four wheelers, loan facilities, provident fund facilities, availability of employees state insurance scheme (ESI), availability of leave facility and availability of retirement benefits. More importantly, among these concerns, Availability of leave facility, Loan facilities and Availability of Employees state insurance scheme as the key areas of satisfaction among the employees. The implications of the finding are discussed.
