Islamic Religious Education Strategy in Developing Good Student Characters

Abstract

Islamic religious education is a planned conscious effort in educating students to understand, believe in and practice the teachings of his religion, accompanied by respecting adherents of other religions, in realizing harmony between religious communities in order to form unity and integrity. The purpose of this study was to determine the strategy of Islamic Education in developing good student characters, and to find out the problems faced, as well as efforts to improve and the results. The method used is analytical descriptive qualitative approach, while the technique of collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation studies. The strategy analysis carried out is: (a). Strategic formulation is environmental analysis, formulating vision and mission, and strategic outcome indicators. (b). Strategic implementation of carrying out programs and activities. (c). Strategic evaluation by evaluating programs, processes, and the impact for students, lecturers and academic staff. (5). Quality Improvements. The conclusion in this study show that the teaching of Islamic Religious Education is in accordance with the principles of strategic management, although there still needs to be improvement in its development. (1). A special environmental analysis should be made that involves stakeholders, (2). In extracurricular activities it is mandatory to do, (3). Islamic teaching is carried out intensively and specifically. (4). Make strict rules regarding prayer in congregation in the mosque. (5). Allow female students to wear the hijab in their activities. (6). Make strict and detailed rules relating to the implementation of the teachings of Islam, both mandatory and unlawful.
