Abstract

Electric vehicles is buzz word today across the globe. Most of the developing countries are trying to shift from conventional IC engine based vehicles to electric vehicles. Electric mobility will quickly enter in rickshaw and two wheeler segment due to suitability of lead acid batteries for these vehicles. For cars and buses trucks its penetration will take time due to high cost associated with lithium batteries. Range of vehicle is be the issue in all vehicles. Range of vehicle is affected by many parameters. E-rickshaw is focused in presented work as it is most popular public transport mode in most of the developing countries. Paper presents the effect of various parameters on range of E-rickshaw. Statistical model is proposed to predict range of E-rickshaw trials are conducted on scale down model of E-rickshaw. This innovative approach can be used in other electrically operated vehicles.
