This paper presents an overview of the work done starting from IMD. IMD is a government (central) office which keeps track of daily climatic changes and thus forecast to make people aware of upcoming weather changes. We know that wind energy is one of the fastest-growing types of electrical energy. Wind energy flows in those areas which have comparably high wind velocity and other parameters. The main aims of this paper study wind energy and try to establish a small (rating) wind turbine at the educational institute in Nagpur. It can be done by analyzing wind velocity data provided by IMD. In this project, we have analyzed the data of 5 years to do so. Further, the outcome of the project will suggest the design specification and location of wind turbines.
