Abstract

Sewage is a liquid waste of hazardous and non-hazardous substances which are very harmful to human society and wish to be removed approaching proper management system. Sewage is managed by developing a sewerage system which collects and transfers sewage from individual location to treatment facilities through closed conduits. The paper presents modelling and designing of sewer network for conveyance of wastewater to treatment plant. The development of sewerage system involves implication of engineering solution to safeguard the environment on sustainable basis by introducing new technologies to society in every possible way. SewerGEMS software is an engineering solution used in designing sewer network in town to resolve problems associated with sewage. The methodology of zoning used has reduced almost 50% of work load on engineers and increased about 80% of efficiency in conveyance of wastewater to treatment units.
