Abstract

With the advent of IPv6, the networking world has been restored. The predecessor IPv4 addressing scheme even after being outdated, now serves approximately about 70 percent of internet traffic worldwide. A reason for such inconvenience is that most of the ISPs worldwide still rely on IPv4 to get their work done, but soon a point comes when things go out of control and no other option is left other than updating to the latest version of IP addressing scheme. This paper describes an Ipv6 deployment process focusing on details about acquiring, processing and deploying IPv6 address scheme in an Internet Service Provider (ISP) network.
