Learning Geography using Interactive Mobile Games

Abstract

This research focuses on video games in an educational perspective. Video games have been proven to help in developing the child's language, thinking skills, problem solving skills and many other aspects that can enhance the learning experience and make it more effective. Video game scan assist in the education process in many ways, it can enhance children’s ability to get knowledge by making the process more enjoyable, and as in the child is learning while he/she is playing the game, where as the traditional way of learning bores the children because it is not attractive nor funny to them. We all know that education is extremely important to everyone, especially geography because kids nowadays are interacting with people all the over the world since a very young age, thanks to the development of technology. Geography is being taught in a way that bores children and makes them lose interest in the topic, teachers make them memorize facts from the book .We want to use video games to make learning geography interactive and interesting for kids and also to give them knowledge about the most famous countries in each continent. The game is focusing to educate children from age 8 to 12 years old on several continents, countries, customs and languages. Objective is to provide a graphical interface in an entertaining way for the things which kids find boring in learning
