Abstract

This paper presents the comparative survey on 3-phase induction motor fed from three-phase CHB inverter and PUC inverters for connecting the renewable energy in agriculture applications. This analysis mainly concentrated on the analysis of inverters with simple construction, less cost, and the minimum number of components. The three-phase induction motor drive has been studied with Three phase CHB and PUC inverters with five and seven voltage levels. 5-level and 7-level CHB inverters are controlled by level-shifted PWM modulation. Five level PUC inverter is controlled sensorless voltage balancing integrated with level shifted PWM. Seven level PUC inverter controlled by PI controller integrated with level shifted PWM. Comparative Analysis is made to observe the various performances including load torque, speed, and THD value for a standard alone system. All these inverters are implemented and analyzed using discrete analysis in MATLAB/SIMULINK and showing good dynamic performance in all aspects.
