Abstract

The study investigated using cross-sectional research design to test the mediating role of two sources IJV’s knowledge acquisition and IJV’s competitiveness as determinants of IJV’s performance. Two studies were carried out with same samples of 166 oil & gas IJVs in Algeria, using systematic random sampling. The data was analysed using AMOS v 23.0. Results revealed that transfer mechanisms through replication and adaptation is significant to IJV’s knowledge acquisition. Furthermore, both of IJV knowledge acquisition and IJV competitiveness were significant and positive mediators of IJV performance. However, the variance explained by IJV competitiveness was significantly higher than IJV knowledge acquisition.
