P. Vijayakumar, V. Nallarasan and A. Joshua Jafferson
Abstract

This paper presents a design of a fuzzy logic system to select optimal sensing method based on current wireless channel state, the accuracy of sensing and complexity. The decision making system dynamically selects one of the optimal sensing algorithms from three sensing algorithms named as energy detection, feature detection, and cyclo-stationary detection. The entire decision making system is implemented on USRP RIO SDR platform. The Fuzzy decision-making system analyzes the present state of SNR, availability information about the primary user and selects spectrum sensing techniques by satisfying the Qos demand. Performance evaluation on experiments shows that the proposed system outperforms with the probability of detection 98% in comparison with the single algorithm alone present case where the energy detector able to give 81% of detection, feature detection 91% and cyclo stationary detection 92%.
