Abstract

Recently, interest in travel has increased as a means of using leisure time. In particular, as the consumption of overseas travel is widening and the frequency of using smart media as a method of collecting information on travel and booking information for overseas travel is increasing. Under these conditions, Utilization of social curation service Apps capable of providing selective information is increasing significantly. Accordingly, this study suggests an efficient user experience (UX) direction through the usability evaluation of social curation service Apps for accommodation reservation.Through the basic research on the change of travel paradigm and social curation service, we looked into the current status of service users and its background and set up experiment and analysis method for usability evaluation. Three social curation service Apps that are most frequently used were targeted for case analysis. A case study of 10 participants was conducted for usability analysis. In the experiment, we measured the task execution time generated by the subject using each of the Apps of the actual social curation service through the user's task execution list. In addition, during the experimental process, feedback on the App usability was collected through FGI after ThinkAloud analysis and the subject's preference for App usability was examined through a questionnaire according to user experience factors. As a result, we identified the need for new additional content execution function for each content without omission of basic user experience functions provided through social curation service. Also, we confirmed that the users wanted to take advantage of perceiving a large amount of content information most conveniently in terms of system design, and that the efficiency of the selective information filtering function of the user is needed in curating the information. We hope that the results of this study will be used as a basis for developing contents related to social curation services.
