Scene understanding tasks can be formulated as a labeling problem that tries to assign a label to each pixel. Scene parsing or scene labeling is the task of labeling each pixel which is present in a scene and identify the group of the object to which it comes. Once the scene parsing task is completed the region and object present in that is identified and labeled. Now a day many such applications want more perfect and effective Scene Labeling mechanisms. Like, automated driving, navigation, and even some Robotic systems need exact scene labeling process for better optimal performance. This increases the demand for deep learning techniques in every field or applications related to computer vision and image analysis, including scene labeling or scene understanding. This paper presents a critical review of deep learning methods in the application of Scene Labeling of images in various areas.
