A Smart Management System for Electric Vehicle Recharge Using Hybrid Renewable Energy

Dr.S. Jayachitra and Dr. Mohammed Gouse Galety
Abstract

Sustainable development is the need of the hour in our society. With the rapid growth in population, the conventional energy are shrinking due to depletion in the raw materials. Hence, it is the need of the hour to turn towards renewable energy systems to meet the demand of energy. An attempt has been made to integrate the present e-bike with a cost effective hybrid renewable energy system consisting of Solar panels(PV) and rotational energy system provided by the DC generator. The system consists of power sources – PV module 30Wp ,DC generator (30W) ,different units such as microcontroller unit and energy storage device i.e battery (2x12Ah). A micro contoller unit for energy management has been developed to control power flow to be drawn from the battery fully charged/To switch over to the battery fully charged , stored in 12Ah battery module, and optimizes the sharing of power from hybrid energy. The practical study on a prototype module has resulted in an optimal yield leading to a cost effective system and saving of more than 50% power from conventional source. Due to generation of green electricity by the hybrid system, it has a very little impact of pollution on our life. The other features like self maintenance, portability, free fuel etc are the added advantages of the system
