Abstract

Heat exchanger is a device used to transfer heat between one or more fluids. The heat transfer is depending on the thermal conductivity of the fluids. To increase the thermal conductivity of the base fluid (glycerin (40%) +water (60%)) some amount of nanoparticles are suspended. The nano fluid is titanium carbide, magnesium Oxide and silver nano particle for weight percentage 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5% & 0.8%. Hairpin Exchangers pin heat exchanger is used to for CFD analysis. 3D model of the hair pin heat exchanger is done with help of CREO parametric software. CFD analysis is done with help of Ansys software for hair pin heat exchanger with TiC, MgO & silver nano particle at different weight percentage 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5% & 0.8%. Analysis shows the heat transfer rate is increased due to addition of nano particles.
