Factors Influencing the Job Satisfaction of Bank Employees in Kerala: Evidence from Five Major Private Sector Banks in Ernakulam District

Abstract

The relationship between various factors relating to economic and social status, like, family structure and its nature, familial income and expenditure, social integration etc., of bank employees relating to their job satisfaction is sought to be studied in this paper. The study is based on the feedback from 500 bank employees associated with five major private sector banks functioning in Ernakulam District of Kerala State in India. The factors significantly influencing the job satisfaction of bank employees have been identified first, and these factors have been suitably used in the order of their significance to suggest strategies for enhanced efficiency and competitiveness of the private banks under study.
