Studies in memory, displacement and Diaspora are in vogue in the present era. Writers across cultures such as Jhumpa Lahiri, Shauna Singh Baldwin, Michael Pugh, Sumayya Lee have focused on the same. This paper is an analysis of the text Gaza Writes Back, Short Stories from Young Writers in Gaza, Palestine by Refaat Alareer, by analyzing how war becomes an endorsement of power. The analysis is done based on the concept of ‘Power’ by Foucault. The paper also delves into the major aftermath of war that is, displacement and the role of memory.
